A free Pomodoro timer that works like the kitchen timer it was named after
Pomodoro Dial is an online Pomodoro timer with no account, no ads and nothing to install. Focus for 25 minutes, rest for 5, and after four sessions take a long break. The dial shows your remaining minutes the way a wind-up timer does, and a chime tells you when to stop.
How to use it
Pick a session type. Focus, short break or long break. Each has its own length in Settings. Switching while a session is running asks before discarding it.
Adjust the minutes if you want. Use the −1 and +1 buttons, hold Shift for five, or click the digits and type a number.
Start. The dial winds down. Pause any time. The timer keeps exact time even when the tab is in the background.
Take the break when the chime rings. The next session is ready for you. Turn on auto-start in Settings if you want it to begin on its own.
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
Francesco Cirillo came up with it in the late 1980s while he was a student, using a tomato-shaped kitchen timer. Pomodoro is Italian for tomato. The method is simple: work on one task for 25 minutes without interruption, rest for 5, and after four rounds rest for 15 to 30 minutes. Short, fixed sessions make starting easier, and the breaks keep your attention fresh across a long day. Read the full guide: the six steps, why it works, and how to pick your interval.
Why this timer
Tasks with estimates. Write what you are working on, guess how many pomodoros it needs, and watch the count fill in as sessions finish. The list shows roughly when you will be done.
Stats and streaks. Pomodoros per day for the last week, your current and best streak, and lifetime totals, with a CSV export. Open them from the bar-chart icon or the count in the footer.
Adjust by the minute. Add or remove minutes mid-session without losing your place.
Accurate in the background. It counts from the clock, not from ticks, so a hidden tab or a laptop nap doesn't throw it off.
Keyboard first. Space, the arrow keys and single letters do everything.
Sound you will notice. A two-note chime at the end, and an optional mechanical tick while you work.
Private. Your settings, tasks and stats stay in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, except a message you choose to send through the feedback form.
Installable and offline. Add it to your phone home screen or desktop and it opens without internet.
Light and dark. It follows your system theme.

Questions
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. It counts from the clock, so the time is exact when you come back, and the chime still plays. If you close the page and reopen it during a session, it picks up where it was.
Can I change the 25 minutes?
Yes. Use −1 and +1, hold Shift for five, or click the digits and type any length from 1 to 180 minutes. Settings holds the default for each session type.
How do the tasks work?
Add what you are working on and guess how many pomodoros it needs. The highlighted task is the active one: every finished focus session adds one to its counter, so 0/3 becomes 1/3. Click a task to make it active, click its circle when it is truly finished, and the line under the list tells you roughly when everything will be done.
Can I share my intervals as a link?
Yes. Put them in the address, for example pomodorodial.com/?focus=50&short=10&long=20. Opening that link sets those lengths. Add sets=3 to change how many focus sessions come before a long break.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.
Will it remember my settings?
Yes, in this browser on this device. Clearing your browser data resets them.
Can I install it or use it offline?
Yes. It is a web app you can install: in Chrome or Edge click the install icon in the address bar or use Settings, Install; on iPhone use Share, then Add to Home Screen. Once opened, it keeps a copy on your device and starts even without internet.
