Privacy

The short version: everything you enter stays in your browser. The site has no accounts, sets no cookies of its own, and makes two optional requests to third parties, both explained below.

Last updated 5 September 2026

What stays on your device

Your settings, tasks, session history and streaks are stored in your browser's local storage on the device you use. They are never sent to a server. That also means they do not follow you to another device or browser, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.

You can delete parts of this yourself at any time: Settings → Today → Clear removes today's count, Stats → Delete history removes all history, and the × next to a task removes it.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It records the page address, the referring site, your country, and the type of browser and device, and shows them in aggregate. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not store IP addresses in its reports. It is loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com. If your browser or an extension blocks that script, the timer works exactly the same.

The feedback form

When you send a message through the feedback panel, the following is stored: the message, its type (idea, bug or other), the address of the page you were on, your email address if you chose to give one, your country, your browser's name and version, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address used only to limit spam. The message is emailed to the person who runs the site and kept until it has been dealt with, then deleted within 90 days.

The panel includes a human check by Cloudflare Turnstile. Its script loads from challenges.cloudflare.com only while the panel is open, and Cloudflare may set a cookie on its own domain to complete the check. The form itself talks to api.pomodorodial.com, a small service running on Cloudflare Workers.

Hosting and other requests

  • The site's files are served by GitHub Pages. GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses for security purposes, as described in GitHub's privacy statement.
  • Fonts are served from this site, not from a font service.
  • Apart from the analytics script and the feedback service described above, the site makes no requests to third parties.

Cookies

Pomodoro Dial sets no cookies. Local storage is used only for your own settings and data, as described above, never for tracking.

Notifications and installation

Desktop notifications are off unless you turn them on in Settings, which asks your browser for permission. Installing the app stores a copy of the site on your device so it can open without internet. Both can be reversed from your browser or system settings.

Changes

If any of this changes, this page will say so, with the date at the top. The changelog lists what has changed in the app.
